Virgin Mobile reducing Velocity earn rate

Virgin Mobile has announced that it will be reducing the Velocity Points earn rate on its postpaid plans. The change, which takes effect on 1 February, 2016, will reduce the current earn rate from 3 Velocity Points per dollar down to 2 Velocity Points per dollar.

According to Virgin Mobile, the change is due to the evolving nature of the product mix, and the reduction will allow points to continue to be paid.  This could, of course, just be a way of saying that the Velocity have increased the price of Points to Virgin Mobile.
