The relationship between Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand continues to unwind, with the two airlines removing points earn on the Trans Pacific service of the other. While the changes are reciprocal, the airlines have not given any indication of why they are making these changes.
The changes mean that you will only earn on the Trans Tasman and domestic services of the two airlines.
As of 1 November 2017, Velocity members will not earn points on Trans Pacific Air New Zealand flights. Members of Velocity will continue to earn status credits and points on Trans Tasman and New Zealand Domestic flights operated by Air New Zealand.
