Members of the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer program can now redeem points for travel vouchers for flights on Scoot and TigerAir (Singapore) flights. The tie-up had been flagged by the airlines back in January, with redemptions the first stage of the partnership.
Redemptions start from 3,200 KrisFlyer miles, which will get you a SGD30 travel voucher. The range available is:
- SGD 30 voucher — 3,200 KrisFlyer miles
- SGD 50 voucher — 5,300 KrisFlyer miles
- SGD 100 voucher — 10,500 KrisFlyer miles
Based on the above chart, the best level for redemption is the SGD 100 voucher.
The vouchers can be used to pay for a range of charges, including fares, ancillary services,
convenience fees and booking charge fees. Further, if one voucher is not enough, mutliple vouchers may be used for a single booking.
Unfortuately, on the flip side, there are a set of charges that the vouchers can’t be used for. These include charges such as airport and government fees/taxes, carrier surcharges and call
centre fees. For these fees, you will need to pay in a form such as a credit card.
It should be noted that for TigerAir flights, this excludes the now Virgin Australia owned TigerAir in Australia. The vouchers are only valid for TR coded flights.
