Qantas and Westjet announce reciprocal frequent flyer agreement

Qantas and Westjet have unveiled a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement, epanding on their existing code share ralationship. Under the new agreement, members of the two airlines frequent flyer programs will be able to earn Qantas Points or Westjet Dollars on the services of both airlines.

On top of the abilty to earn points, Qantas has further announced that from May 25, 2016 members of its Qantas Frequent Flyer program will be able to redeem Qantas Points for Qantas code-share flights operated by Westjet.  To exand on this, the two airlines are working on plans to introduce fully reciprocal redemption for both airlines in 2017. This which will enable the members of the two programs to redeem on the services of the other airline.

Qantas has updated its earning tables to reflect the addition of Westjet as an earning partner. Do note, however, that when on the Westjet coded flight number, you will only earn points – and not status credits.
