Krisflyer has announced a new redemption chart that will, for the most part, take effect from 24 May. While the changes generally improve redemption options, such as adding options for Premium Economy, it does also result in increased points requirements for some destinations on Europe.
As from 24 May, you will be able to redeem for Premium Economy saver award tickets flights where Premium Economy is offered.
In addition, new upgrade options have been introduced that will allow for upgrade awards from Economy to Premium Economy, and for upgrade awards from Premium Economy to Business. Flight upgrades will be available from 1 June 2016.
Removal of Full Awards
Full Awards are being removed as from 24 May
2016. This will leave just Saver and Standard Awards. According to Singapore Airliens, if you have a Full Award flight departing from 24 May 2016, a refund will be made of the difference between the full and standard award rates.
Europe was previously in two zones, however they are being consolidated into a single zone. The net effect of this is to increase the cost of redemptions for Amsterdam, Â Copenhagen and Rome. This is effective from 24 May 2016, which makes for a pretty short notice period for this change.
Overall a bit of a mixed bag, and you can find more about the changes on the Singapore Airlines website
