Hyatt Gold Passport has announced a set of Award category changes, set to take effect from 1 August, 2016. Among over 100 hotels moving up
or down, the Hyatt Regency Perth is moving down 1 category.
The Award Category of a hotel determines the number of points that are required for an Award Night. The higher the category – the higher the number of points required.
In the case of the Hyatt Regency Perth, the hotel will be moving from Category 4 to Category 3. This, in turn, will mean that the number of points required for an Award Night will decrease from 15,000 points per night to 12,000 points per night. This represents a reduction of 20% in the points requirement.
In the wider region, other hotels that are moving down a category, also from Category 4 to Category 3 are the Grand Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur and the Hyatt Regency, Phuket Resort.
The full list of hotels moving up and down has been published by Hyatt on the Gold Passport site.
Note that the current rates apply when bookings are made by the end of July. For bookings made from 1 August onwards the new rates will apply.
