Hilton launches member discount

Hilton has launched a members only discount rate at over 4,500 hotels worldwide. The discount rate has been trialled at a number of properties over the last few months, and has now been rolled out across most of the Hilton network.

While the offer is available in most countries, it has not extended to hotels in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan. This is apparently due to contractual obligations within those regions.

The discount on offer varies depending on a few factors – the main one being how far in advance the booking is being made. Generally, it is based on what Hilton has come to call the ‘Easy Cancellation’, and appears to itself be a fleexible rate. The discount on offer is as follows:

  • For booking within 14 days of the stay – 2%
  • For stays 15 days or more out – 10% on weekends, or 3% during the week. Weekends are Friday night through to Sunday night, except in the Middle East, where it is Thursday night through to Saturday night.

The slim discounts suggest it is largely targetted at reducing the number of Best Rate Guarantee claims. In many cases, other rates such as the AAA rate may provide a greater discount.

While the rates are readily available online, if you need to make a phone reservation, request “HHonors Discount” or Plan Code HPPRP1 or H1P for bookings within 14 days or Plan Code HPPRP2 and H2P for bookings 15 or more days out.
