Double Qantas Points on flights to the USA

As part of the celebrating the launch of direct American Airlines flights between Sydney and Los Angeles, Qantas is offering Double Points on all eligible flights between Australia and the United States.

In order to be in line for Double Points, you will need to fly on a Qantas or American Airlines flight  (with a Qantas flight number) between Australia and the USA or Canada. The flight needs to be one that would normally earn points, and so an award flight would not qualify.

Also note that it only applies to the transpacific flight itself, any connecting domestic flights within Australia or the United States will not qualify for bonus points.

In order to take part in the double points promotion, you will need to

  1. Register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) 6 October and 11.59pm (AEDT) 19 October 2015
  2. Travel between 18 December 2015 and 30 September 2016
  3. Include your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number in the booking
  4. All Frequent Flyers in the booking must register separately to earn double points

You also need to ensure that your flight is ticketed with a Qantas (QF) flight number on your ticket. While you can fly on the American  Airlines 777 service from Sydney to Los Angeles, you must be ticketd on the Qantas-marketed flight number (i.e. the Qantas codeshare) to qualify..
